Life is fast, there are always pressures building up or tasks being added to some list. Indica Cannabis provides the solution to life’s daily pressures.

Anxiety is on the rise which can lead to depression or other issues. Managing these pressures are critical for building a healthy life. Luckily for us, marijuana has been growing for thousands of years. Marijuana is divided into three categories, Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid. In our last blog What Strain Are You?, we provided a high level overview of the three different categories. Today though, we’re all about Indicas. Have you ever heard someone describe feeling “Mellow” “Chill” “Relaxed”? If so, it is likely they are smoking an Indica strain.

The effects of Indicas are felt more in the body versus the head like Sativas are. This is why Indicas are often associated with “night time” use and Sativas are associated with “day time” use. Indicas are perfect if you are looking for a way to relax after a busy day or just looking for a great weekend treat.

Indica smokers often are left feeling so carefree and relaxed that there is a sense of being “couch locked” and the idea of moving becomes an afterthought. Now, this isn’t saying you’ll be stuck, but, you will be very comfortable. Keep in mind this is a lethargic feeling, so it is best paired with a lighter day/evening. Remember, when trying marijuana it is important to pace yourself. You can always get higher! Taking things slow can help ease into the experience.

Below are 5 common activities that pair with an Indica high:

  1. Listen to music
  2. Watch a movie or T.V.
  3. Go on a walk around your neighborhood
  4. Cook a meal
  5. Make a snack

Indica strain typically leaves the smoker with a dry mouth, heavy eyes, increased sense of hunger and feeling “couch locked.” This is great for after a long day at work or a nice relaxing day off.

What Strain Are You? Sativa Vs. Indica

Nothing is better than smoking the right type of weed. What are you, Sativa or Indica?

Marijuana is able to compliment daily activities such as chores, clearning, listening to music, watching movies or t.v. shows, outdoor activities, cooking, etc… but in order to have the best experience, it is important to pick the right strain of Marijuana. The 3 strain types are Sative, Indica, and Hybrid. These are the 3 main types of marijuana plants and each has unique characteristics that make them special. In this article we’ll be discussing Sativa vs. Indica and the different effects for each. At the end you will find a few recommended activities to match each type.

Marijuana is categorized by 3 strain types: Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid. Each strain has unique properties that contribute to the high. Sativas will be energizing, head highs that are more mental. Sativas are great for social activities, or being active. Indicas on the other hand, are for relaxation and unwinding. The indica high is typically a calming/relaxing body high. You can always check our online menu to see what is a sativa hybrid or indica.

Now that we have some of the basics out of the way, let’s dive into the Sativa plant! As noted above, Sativas are uplifting, so they are recommended for daytime use. The effects of Sativa plants are typically:

  • Creative
  • Euphoria
  • Sociable
  • Cheerful
  • Energic
  • Alert

Sativas are great to pair with an activity like cleaning, hiking, making music, painting, or anything creative. Sativas are always great for social settings because they act as a natural energy source. Sativa plants typically grow to be 8-15 feet tall with buds that are tall and airy. The plant will flower in 10-16 weeks and typically has higher THC levels than indica strains.

Next, we’ll be looking at the Indica strain. The Indica plant produces a mellow relaxed feeling that is great to unwind after a busy day. The carefree feeling allows for a calming and happy sensation. Other effects include:

  • Couch-Lock
  • Carefree Feeling
  • Calming Feeling
  • Mellow Feeling
  • Sleepy
  • Relaxed

Indicas pair perfectly with a relaxing evening in the house, watching a movie or t.v. show, cooking, reading, or sleeping. The Indica plant grows to be between 2-6 feet tall. The buds are dense and compact with higher CBD levels than the sativa plant.

Lastly, there is a Hybrid strain. Hybrids are the result of crossing Sativas and Indicas plants. Hybrids allow for a mixture of both sativas and indicas. They typically are created for a specific outcome. What I mean is there are hybrids that are dominant toward one strain. These will mix several effects of the opposite but still be leaning towards the main type.

Hybrids are great for people who are wanting the best of both worlds. They are great for people who just can’t decide between the two.  Some hybrids lean more toward one type than the other. These are called “dominant” hybrids, a sativa dominant hybrid is going to be a hybrid but the high will be more of a sativa high. Don’t forget all people react to cannabis differently so it is important to try a few different options to find a preference
