Recreational Delivery in Arizona: How it Works and How it Can Benefit You

Recreational Delivery in Arizona: How it Works and How it Can Benefit You

You may have already heard, but just in case you haven’t, delivery for recreational patients is now legal in Arizona! This means that anyone over the age of 21 can now utilize cannabis delivery services!

If you’ve never used cannabis delivery services or if you have questions about how it works for recreational cannabis, then we’ve got you covered. We’ll cover the basics, some potential benefits for you and even a helpful walk through of how it works at NatureMed.

What is Adult Use Delivery and How Does it Work

Until November 1 of this year, only medical patients were able to utilize delivery for cannabis products. This meant that anyone ordering delivery, regardless of what they were ordering, had to have a valid medical card.

Now, with this recent update to the law, anyone of legal age is able to have their order delivered right to their door. It’s as simple as going online or calling your dispensary, placing your order and waiting for it to be delivered.

However, other rules for recreational patients still apply. Non-medical purchases are still subject to an additional excise tax. Recreational patients are still unable to purchase certain high dose products marked for medical use and they still much abide by their state allowed allotment of 1 oz.

Some Reasons Why You Might Want to Use Delivery

1. Get your order without disrupting your day
Have you ever had a day where there’s just so much on your to-do list at home that you don’t even want to think about getting any of your other errands run. Taking advantage of delivery means that you can cross one more thing off of your to-do list and not even have to step foot outside. (And then you’ll have something help you de-stress after a busy day)

2. Great for people with obligations that make it hard to go out (kids, pets, etc)
Heading out to pick up your order is not always as easy as getting in the car and making a quick drive over. Small children who need supervision, pets who can’t be left alone or other people who are dependent on you can make it, logistically, much more difficult to get to a dispensary. Having your order delivered right to your door can get rid of a lot of those logistical issues and make things a little bit easier

3. Don’t have reliable transportation
If getting yourself to the dispensary is the hard part then you won’t have to worry about that with delivery. You won’t need to wait for a bus, pay for an uber or try to find a lift from a friend. You can just take it easy and let the weed come to you.

4. If you’re temporarily incapacitated
You can’t always predict what life is going to throw at you and some days you end up down for the count. Maybe you’re sick and don’t want to leave the house or maybe you are recovering from a procedure or a broken bone and moving around is difficult for you. This type of set back would not be something that qualifies you for a medical card but you would definitely benefit from cannabis delivery. And now with this new law you can take advantage of it!

How to Place Your Delivery Order with NatureMed

Now if you want to try out delivery, NatureMed is here to give you a hand! We’ll give you a quick walk through of the process and for more specific instructions or further information you can check out our website.

  1. Build your cart on our website. You can head to https://naturemedaz.com/rec-delivery/ and build your cart on through the menu on that page.
  2. Add your information. Once you build your cart and you go to check out you will be asked to enter in your information that is relevant to the order. Things like your address (this will also tell you if you’re within the delivery radius), your drivers license number, payment information, etc.
  3. Select a time slot. At NatureMed, we make three delivery runs per day, at 10am, 1pm, and 5pm. In the Special Instructions section of the page, please let us know what time slot you would like for your delivery.
  4. Check out. After entering all of your information and verifying that it’s correct, you can place your order.
  5. Wait for a phone call. After you place your order, someone at NatureMed will review it and then give you a call to confirm. We must get verbal confirmation of your order before we can send it out for delivery so please make sure that you try and answer our call in a timely manner. If that confirmation is delayed you might need to be bumped to a later time slot.
  6. Receive your order. Once the order is placed and everything is confirmed, now all you need to do is wait for the delivery. When making deliveries, our drivers leave the dispensary at the time indicated on your time slot so actual delivery time may vary. Drivers also do not carry change with them, so make sure that if you are paying cash you have the correct amount for your driver.

If you’ve never had been able to try cannabis delivery, then we hope that you can now take advantage of this great service. NatureMed is here to help with any questions or concerns you may have, you can always go to our website or give us a call and we’ll be more than happy to help!

An Introduction to Microdosing

An Introduction to Microdosing

Microdosing has become a buzzword in wellness circles, particularly when it comes to cannabis consumption. For those who want to experience the therapeutic effects of cannabis without the intense high, microdosing is a great option.

What is Microdosing Cannabis?

Microdosing typically describes when someone consumes smaller doses of cannabis—typically 2-5 mg of THC or even less. The goal isn’t to feel high, but to experience the therapeutic and mood-enhancing benefits of cannabis without any potential impairment.

The key is finding your perfect balance between a dose low enough to avoid feeling high but still being able to feel its positive effects.

This approach is becoming popular not only with cannabis beginners but also with seasoned users who want to reduce their tolerance or incorporate cannabis into their daily routine in a more controlled way.

Why People Choose to Microdose

There are many reasons why people turn to microdosing cannabis. One of the biggest draws is the ability to experience the therapeutic effects without losing control or feeling couch-locked. Some common reasons include:

  1. Low Tolerance: For people who are sensitive to THC or who are new to cannabis, microdosing allows them to ease into the experience without feeling overwhelmed by the psychoactive effects.
  2. Stress and Anxiety Relief: Microdosing is often used to manage daily stress or anxiety without the risk of becoming too high, which could lead to further anxiety or discomfort.
  3. Increased Focus and Creativity: Many people who choose to microdose report enhanced focus and creativity at low doses of THC, making it a popular choice for professionals or artists looking for a mental boost without clouding their judgment.
  4. Pain Management: For people dealing with chronic pain or inflammation, microdosing can provide relief throughout the day while still allowing them to function normally.
  5. Improved Mood: Microdosing can lift your spirits and enhance mood without the typical side effects associated with larger doses of cannabis.

The Benefits of Microdosing

Microdosing can offer a number of benefits, especially for those looking to use cannabis for therapeutic reasons. Some popular benefits of microdosing cannabis are:

  1. Better Control: Since the doses are so small, you’re less likely to experience unwanted side effects like anxiety, paranoia, or extreme tiredness.
  2. Increased Functionality: Microdosing allows you to incorporate cannabis into your daily life without hindering your ability to work, socialize, or perform daily tasks.
  3. Lower Tolerance Build-Up: By consuming smaller doses, you may prevent your body from building up a tolerance to THC as quickly, meaning you can maintain effectiveness with less cannabis over time.
  4. Cost Efficiency: Since you’re using less cannabis per session, microdosing can stretch your supply further, saving you money in the long run.

How to Start Microdosing

If you’re interested in microdosing, the key is to start low and go slow. Products like edibles, tinctures, and capsules are often the easiest way to microdose because they come with pre-measured doses.

Try and look for products with low THC concentrations or those specifically designed for microdosing. It’s easier to begin with 1-2 mg of THC and see how your body reacts. It’s important to wait at least an hour or two to fully assess how you feel before deciding if you need to take more.

It’s also a good idea to track your experience, especially when you’re starting out. Keeping a journal can be helpful and allow you to better track how each dose affects you.

Note how long it takes for the effects to kick in, how you feel, and how long the effects last. This can help you find your ideal dose over time.

Then, once you have a good understanding of your response to cannabis, you can gradually increase your dose by small amounts, if needed, to get your desired effects.

Microdosing can be a great option for someone who’s looking to explore the benefits of cannabis without having to navigate the intensity of higher doses. Whether you’re looking for stress relief, enhanced creativity, or daily wellness support, microdosing gives you the opportunity to fine-tune your experience and maintain control.

If you’re looking to give microdosing a try, then stop by NatureMed and we’ll make sure that you have everything that you need to get started.

The Connection Between Cannabis and Creativity

The Connection Between Cannabis and Creativity

Cannabis has long been associated with creativity. For years, there have been a number of artists, musicians, writers, and more who have praised its ability to unlock new ideas and inspire innovation. In recent years, with its growing popularity, the link between cannabis and creativity has gained even more attention.

But how exactly does cannabis influence creativity? Is it a mind-altering tool that can genuinely spark imaginative thinking, or is it simply a way to relax and think outside the box? Here, we’ll explore the relationship between cannabis and creativity, how it works, and how you might be able to use it to get those creative juices flowing!

How Cannabis Interacts with the Brain

To understand the connection between cannabis and creativity, it’s important to look at how cannabis affects the brain. The active compounds in cannabis, known as cannabinoids, interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system—a complex network that regulates a variety of functions including mood, memory, and perception.

Learn More: An Introduction to the Endocannabinoid System

The most well-known cannabinoid is THC, which is responsible for the psychoactive effects of cannabis. When THC binds to receptors in the brain, it alters your neural activity, leading to changes in perception, mood, and thought processes. This is where creativity comes into play. There are a couple of ways that THC can help you to think more creatively:

1. Altered Perception and New Perspectives

Cannabis can change the way we perceive the world around us. It can heighten the senses, alter time perception, and shift the way we process information. This altered state of mind often allows people to see familiar things in a new light or connect seemingly unrelated ideas, which can foster creativity.

Many artists and musicians have reported that cannabis helps them break free from conventional thinking patterns. By altering perception, cannabis may allow users to think more freely and creatively, making connections that they might not otherwise have made.

2. Reduced Inhibition and Anxiety

One of the most commonly reported effects of cannabis is its ability to reduce anxiety and self-consciousness. For many people, the fear of judgment or failure can block the creative process. Cannabis can help alleviate these mental blocks by relaxing the mind and allowing ideas to flow more freely.

This is particularly important for people engaged in creative work, as the fear of imperfection or rejection can sometimes prevent them from exploring new ideas. With reduced inhibition, cannabis users may feel more confident in their creative endeavors, leading to greater output and experimentation.

How Different Strains Affect Creativity

Not all cannabis strains are created equal when it comes to promoting creativity. The cannabinoid and terpene profiles of different strains can produce varying effects, so it’s important to choose the right one depending on how your body typically reacts to those strains and what your creative goals are.

1. Sativa Strains

Sativa strains are often associated with uplifting, energizing effects. These strains tend to promote mental stimulation and creativity, making them ideal for brainstorming, writing, or engaging in artistic activities.

Sativa-dominant strains typically contain higher levels of limonene, a terpene known for its mood-enhancing properties, which can lead to bursts of creative energy.

2. Indica Strains

Indica strains, on the other hand, are typically associated with relaxation and calming effects. While these strains may not provide the same level of mental stimulation as Sativas, they can still be useful for certain types of creative work that benefit from a more meditative, introspective mindset.

Indica strains can help quiet the mind, making them suitable for activities like journaling, reflective writing, or creating music.

3. Hybrid Strains

Hybrid strains offer a balance of Sativa and Indica effects, which can be ideal for creative activities that require both mental stimulation and relaxation. For instance, a hybrid might offer the energizing focus of a Sativa while also providing the calm, stress-relief of an Indica, leading to a well-rounded creative experience.

While cannabis may not be a magic bullet for everyone, many creative individuals have found that it helps unlock new ideas, reduce anxiety, and shift their thinking in productive ways.

Whether it’s through stimulating new ways of thinking or simply reducing mental barriers, cannabis can play a role in inspiring creativity when used mindfully.

Creativity is a highly personal process, and finding the right balance between cannabis and your creative work is key to making the most of your experience.

Cannabis in the Beauty Industry: The Rise of CBD and its Benefits

Cannabis in the Beauty Industry: The Rise of CBD and Its Benefits

The beauty industry is no stranger to trends, and one of the innovations to hit the scene in recent years has been the integration of cannabis, specifically CBD, into skincare and beauty products.

Once associated solely with medicinal or recreational use, cannabis has now found its way into a number of different products from anti-aging creams to hair care products.

With CBD becoming increasingly popular in beauty formulas, some may wonder if it really works, what the benefits are, and what types of products they should look out for. Don’t worry, before we’re done, we’ll make sure you learn everything you need to know about cannabis in the beauty industry.

The Rise of CBD in Beauty

As more people have begun to recognize its medicinal potential, it’s no surprise that the beauty world took notice. CBD has gained particular popularity because, unlike THC, it is non-psychoactive—meaning it won’t get you high.

Instead, CBD is often used for its potential healing properties, particularly in reducing inflammation, soothing irritation, and providing antioxidant protection.

The shift toward natural, plant-based ingredients in beauty products has also paved the way for cannabis.

Consumers are increasingly looking for products that are free from harsh chemicals and synthetic additives. Therefore, many in the beauty industry responded by integrating CBD into a wide range of offerings, including face creams, serums, oils, lip balms, and even haircare.

Benefits of CBD in Beauty Products

CBD is praised for its various benefits when applied to the skin, and many companies claim that it can help with common skincare issues. Here are just a couple of key reasons as to why CBD has become a more popular ingredient in beauty products:

1. Anti-Inflammatory Properties

One of the most well-known benefits of CBD is its anti-inflammatory effect. Inflammation is at the root of many skin issues, including acne, eczema, and rosacea. CBD works by interacting with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate processes like pain, mood, and inflammation.

When applied topically, CBD can help calm inflamed skin and reduce redness, making it ideal for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin.

2. Moisturizing and Hydration

CBD also has moisturizing properties, which is good for skin health. Many of these products containing CBD will help to lock in moisture and keep the skin hydrated, making CBD-infused products excellent for people with dry or flaky skin. Additionally, CBD is believed to help regulate oil production, which can prevent clogged pores and breakouts.

3. Antioxidant Protection

Like other plant-based ingredients, CBD contains powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants are important in protecting the skin from harmful molecules that can accelerate aging by breaking down collagen and elastin.

By neutralizing these molecules, CBD may help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dullness, making it a popular ingredient in anti-aging products.

4. Soothing and Calming

For people with irritated or sensitive skin, CBD’s calming properties can offer relief. It has been shown to soothe itching, irritation, and even symptoms of conditions like psoriasis or dermatitis.

Many CBD-infused creams and balms are formulated to provide a gentle touch, making them a good option for those looking to avoid harsh or reactive ingredients.

Does CBD Really Work in Beauty Products?

While the buzz around CBD in beauty products is undeniable, some experts and consumers remain skeptical.

One of the primary concerns is that there hasn’t been enough scientific research to fully confirm the long-term benefits of topical CBD. Much of the evidence supporting its effectiveness is anecdotal, with only a handful of peer-reviewed studies available on the subject.

Additionally, not all CBD products are created equal. The quality and concentration of CBD can vary greatly depending on the brand, and some products may not contain enough CBD to produce noticeable effects.

This is why it’s important to do your research and choose products from reputable companies that use third-party testing to verify the potency and purity of their CBD.

Things to Look for When Buying CBD Beauty Products

If you’re interested in incorporating CBD into your beauty routine, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Check the CBD Concentration: Make sure the product contains a meaningful amount of CBD. Some products may only contain trace amounts, which might not provide the desired benefits.
  2. Full-Spectrum vs. Isolate: Full-spectrum CBD contains additional cannabinoids, terpenes, and nutrients from the cannabis plant, which may offer more comprehensive benefits. CBD isolate, on the other hand, contains pure CBD and no other cannabinoids.
  3. Look for Lab Testing: Reputable brands should provide third-party lab testing results to verify the CBD content and ensure the product is free from contaminants like pesticides or heavy metals.
  4. Check for Additional Ingredients: CBD is often paired with other beneficial ingredients like aloe vera, shea butter, or essential oils. Be mindful of what else is in the product to ensure it suits your skin type.

The integration of CBD into the beauty industry is part of a broader trend toward natural, plant-based ingredients that promise to deliver health benefits alongside cosmetic improvements.

While the scientific backing for CBD in skincare is still developing, its potential is promising. Whether you’re looking for a natural solution to sensitive skin, hoping to fight signs of aging, or simply curious about the trend, CBD beauty products may be worth a try.

The Pros and Cons of Different Ways to Consume Cannabis

The Pros and Cons of Different Ways to Consume Cannabis

Cannabis consumption has come a long way from the traditional methods of smoking joints or pipes. With all of the innovation in the cannabis industry, we now have so many different ways to consume cannabis, each with its own unique experiences.

Regardless of your level of experience with cannabis, it’s important to understand the pros and cons of different consumption methods so you can make an informed choice that aligns with your preferences, lifestyle, and health needs.

Here’s a breakdown of the most common ways to consume cannabis, along with some of the benefits and drawbacks of each.

Note: Just a quick note before we start, this list doesn’t capture every possible pro or con for every method of consumption. It’s important to do your own research into your preferred method of consumption.

Smoking

Smoking is probably the most popular method of consuming cannabis. It would be classified as any form of consumption that involves inhaling the smoke from burning cannabis flower through a joint, pipe, or bong.

Pros:

  • Immediate Effects: Smoking delivers THC and other cannabinoids directly into the bloodstream via the lungs, leading to almost instant effects. This makes it easier to control dosage based on how you’re feeling.
  • Widely Available: Cannabis flower is widely available at dispensaries, and you don’t need special equipment aside from rolling papers or a basic pipe.

Cons:

  • Health Risks: Smoking anything, including cannabis, can irritate the lungs and throat, and may increase the risk of respiratory problems over time. While some preliminary studies have shown that cannabis smoke is generally less harmful than tobacco smoke, inhaling combusted plant material still carries health risks.
  • Shorter High: The effects of smoking tend to wear off more quickly than other methods, lasting 1-3 hours, which may lead to more frequent consumption for some users.

Vaping

Vaping cannabis involves heating cannabis flower or concentrates to a temperature that releases cannabinoids and terpenes in vapor form, which is then inhaled.

Pros:

  • Immediate Effects: Like smoking, vaping delivers cannabinoids quickly to the bloodstream, allowing for fast onset of effects.
  • Discreet: Vapes produce less odor than smoking, making it a more discreet option for those who want to consume cannabis without drawing attention.

Cons:

  • Cost: Vapes, especially high-quality ones, can be expensive upfront. Additionally, vaping cartridges or concentrates may be pricier than traditional cannabis flower.
  • Potential Health Concerns: While generally considered safer than smoking, there are still concerns about the long-term effects of vaping, especially when it comes to additives in some vape cartridges (like vitamin E acetate, which has been linked to lung injury).

Edibles

Edibles are cannabis-infused food or drinks that are consumed orally. Common examples include gummies, brownies, chocolates, and beverages.

Pros:

  • Long-Lasting Effects: Edibles provide a longer-lasting high than smoking or vaping, often lasting 4-8 hours or more. This can be ideal for those seeking sustained relief from symptoms like pain or anxiety.
  • Discreet and Convenient: Edibles are easy to consume and highly discreet since they look just like regular food items. They’re a great option for people who don’t want to inhale smoke or vapor.

Cons:

  • Delayed Onset: Edibles take longer to kick in, usually 30 minutes to 2 hours after consumption. This can lead to accidental overconsumption, especially for new users who may not feel the effects right away.
  • Difficult to Dose: It can be tricky to control dosage with edibles, especially homemade ones. The THC content in edibles can vary, making it easier to consume too much and experience an uncomfortable high.

Tinctures and Oils

Tinctures are liquid cannabis extracts that are taken sublingually (under the tongue) or added to food or drinks. They can come in dropper bottles for easy dosing.

Pros:

  • Discreet and Portable: Tinctures are discreet, portable, and easy to consume in any setting. They don’t produce smoke or vapor, and there’s typically no noticeable smell.
  • Fast and Controlled Dosing: When taken sublingually, tinctures provide relatively quick effects (within 15-45 minutes), and the dropper allows for precise dosing. You can easily control how much THC or CBD you’re consuming.
  • Versatile: Tinctures can also be added to food or drinks for a slower onset, making them a versatile option for users who want more control over how they consume cannabis.

Cons:

  • Taste: Some people find the taste of cannabis tinctures unpleasant, especially when taken directly under the tongue.
  • Delayed Onset When Added to Food: While tinctures are fast-acting when used sublingually, adding them to food or drink can delay the effects, similar to edibles.

Topicals

Topicals are cannabis-infused creams, balms, or lotions applied directly to the skin. These products are commonly used for localized relief from pain, inflammation, or skin conditions.

Pros:

  • No Psychoactive Effects: Since topicals don’t enter the bloodstream, they don’t produce the psychoactive effects associated with THC, making them ideal for users seeking relief without getting high.
  • Targeted Relief: Topicals are great for targeting specific areas of the body, such as sore muscles or joint pain, providing localized relief.

Cons:

  • Limited Use: While topicals are effective for pain or inflammation, they don’t provide the full-body relief or high that other consumption methods offer. Their effects are limited to the areas where they are applied.
  • Variable Potency: The effectiveness of topicals can vary based on the formulation, and users may need to experiment to find a product that works for them.

Dabbing

Concentrates can be consumed by vaporizing concentrated cannabis extracts, such as shatter, wax, or oil, using a special device called a dab rig. This is often referred to as dabbing

Pros:

  • High Potency: Dabs are extremely potent, providing a stronger and more intense experience than other methods. This makes it ideal for experienced users or medical patients who need fast, powerful relief.
  • Fast Onset: Like smoking and vaping, dabbing delivers immediate effects, making it an efficient option for those seeking quick relief.

Cons:

  • Complex Setup: Dabbing requires specialized equipment like a dab rig, torch, and concentrates, which can be intimidating for beginners. It also requires more effort and precision compared to simpler methods.
  • Potential for Overconsumption: Because concentrates are so potent, it’s easy to consume too much, especially for inexperienced users, leading to overwhelming effects.

Every consumption method has its own set of benefits and drawbacks, so the “best” method is going to depend on your personal preferences and desired effects. The key is to experiment responsibly and find the method that’s going to work best for your needs.

The Best Foods to Eat While You’re High

The Best Foods to Eat While You're High

There’s nothing quite like the experience of being high and feeling the sudden, overwhelming desire to eat—better known as “the munchies.” Whether you’re looking to indulge in something sweet, salty, crunchy, or a bit healthier, finding the perfect food to munch on can elevate your experience to a whole new level.

We believe that the perfect snack for while you’re high need to hit the following criteria:

It must be…

1. Tasty, duh! No one wants a disappointing snack

2. Easy to get to. If you have to do more than walk to your kitchen or order on your phone, it’s not worth it

3. Simple to prepare. If you need to spend more than 30 minutes actively preparing it, you might want to choose another snack.

And finally, the most important piece of criteria. Your snack should be…

4. Whatever hits the spot. Regardless of everything else, whenever you ultimately have, it should satisfy your cravings.

One other recommendation that we have is to stock up beforehand. That way you don’t have to venture out once you’re feeling good!

Now that we have that covered, here are some of our favorite snacks to munch on while high

Pizza

We can’t make a list of the best foods to eat while high, without including this iconic staple. Pizza has long been used by the stoners to satisfy those munchie cravings and with good reason.

Frozen pizzas are some of the easiest at home meals to prepare and are usually done relatively quickly. If you’re in the mood for hot and fresh, pizza is probably also going to be the easiest food to get delivered right to your door.

Don’t even get us started on the versatility and all of the flavor options, with most places having an almost endless list of toppings, there’s going to be something there for everyone. Plus it’s great hot or cold.

Chips and Dip

This is a super easy, super tasty snack that you probably have sitting in your pantry right now. There is no preparation required except for opening up a bag and unscrewing a lid.

There’s just something about that crunchy savory taste that just hits the spot when those munchies hit you. There is a lot of variety to choose from in both your chips and your dip, meaning that it never gets old, you’ll be able to find something that everyone likes. There are even a number of healthy options, if that’s something that you’re looking for.

They are also the perfect shareable snack for you to munch on while you chill out with your homies.

Ice Cream

Switching directions and moving into something sweet, ice cream can be a really great option to help you cool down while you’re turning up the heat. The coolness and the sweet flavor can be a really great contrast to the dry sensation you can often feel when you’re smoking.

You have options that range from the simple like vanilla and chocolate or something more rich like brownie batter or salted caramel swirl, so you’re sure to find something to satisfy those cravings.

Many people already have ice cream in their freezer, but just in case you don’t, you can usually find it super easily at any convenience or corner store.

If you’re really feeling like you want something more, it’ll take no time at all to turn your ice cream into a sundae! You can use the traditional toppings like sprinkles or chocolate syrup or if you’re out of those, you can get creative. Pretzels, cereal and candy are all things that you might find in your pantry that will take your ice cream to the next level.

Cereal

Who said that cereal was only for breakfast? We happen to think it’s the perfect simple food to snack on during your sesh. It’s so easy to prepare, all you need is your favorite cereal and some milk (or you can eat it dry, we don’t judge) and you’re good to go.

It’s something that you likely already have in your pantry and the crunchy sweetness of it will give you a nice satisfying snack.

If we could give one more recommendation to take your cereal game to the next level, try mixing different types of cereal together. It’ll give you a new flavor and texture combination that’ll keep things interesting, for sure.

Fresh Fruit

Ok, so hear us out with this one. Fresh fruit might not be the typical snack you reach for when those munchies hit but there are a couple of reasons that you might want to give it a try next time.

The natural sugar in fruits are great for satisfying that sweet tooth without making you feel overly full or sluggish, like artificial sugars can. Fruit also has a much higher water content than many other snacks making it perfect to combat that dehydration and dry mouth you can feel after smoking.

You can also add on to your fruit. Things like chocolate, cool whip, whipped cream, and more, can take your fruit from lightweight to decadent.

It’s also a healthier option, so if that’s something that important to you, then you might want to add some fruit into you next snack rotation

Mac and Cheese

Mac and Cheese is another staple and with good reason. It’s basic, it’s easy to prepare and it’s super rich and tasty, exactly what you’re looking for in a snack while you’re high.

The creamy, gooey texture and rich, cheesy flavor are incredibly satisfying, especially when the munchies hit and it’s inexpensive and easy to find. In fact, I bet most people have a box in their cabinets right now

This does require a little more involvement in the preparation but we definitely think it’s worth it. You can even add a little extra seasoning or some extra toppings like bacon to really push it over the edge.

Ultimately the best snack to have when you’re high is whatever’s going to satisfy that craving and if you’ve been at this awhile, you probably have a list of tried and true options. However, we hope that maybe we gave you some new ideas or reminded you of old favorites.

Now here at NatureMed, we can’t provide you with the snacks but we can make sure that you have everything else for a stellar sesh. Stop by and we’ll hook you up.

Cannabis and the Law: What You Need to Know

Cannabis and the Law: What You Need to Know

Even though cannabis is becoming much more widely accepted and many states are passing legislation making it legal to purchase and consume, it is still a highly regulated industry. As such, it’s important for people who consume cannabis to be aware of all of the laws in place and how they have changed over time.

We know that the law can be pretty complicated sometimes so we just wanted to give you the basics things that your everyday, regular user wants to know.

Brief History of Cannabis Legalization in Arizona

In November 2020, Arizona voters approved Proposition 207, which legalized the recreational use of cannabis for adults 21 and over. This came about 10 years after the legalization of medical marijuana in 2010 through the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act.

Under the current laws, adults 21 and older can legally possess, purchase, and use cannabis in Arizona. However, there are still regulations that govern the quantity of cannabis someone can possess, where it can be consumed, and how it can be grown or distributed.

Possession Limits

One of the most important aspects of cannabis laws is understanding possession limits. Under Proposition 207 in Arizona:

  • Recreational marijuana patients: Can legally possess up to 1 ounce (28 grams) of cannabis. However, only up to 5 grams of that 1 ounce can be in the form of cannabis concentrate.
  • Medical marijuana patients: May possess up to 2.5 ounces (about 70 grams) of cannabis in a 14-day period, but there are no specific limits on the amount of cannabis concentrate as long as it does not exceed the total weight limit.

It’s important to stay within limits to avoid potential legal issues. Possessing more than the legal amount can result in criminal charges, including hefty fines and possible jail time.

If you’re unsure about the allotment rules as it pertains to you, feel free to ask your budtender for more information.

Consumption Restrictions

Even though cannabis is legal for adult use in Arizona, there are still restrictions on where you can consume it.

The safest place to consume cannabis is on private property, such as in your home. However, landlords and property owners have the right to prohibit cannabis use on their property and may impose those rules on their tenants.

It is currently illegal to consume cannabis in public places in Arizona. This includes parks, sidewalks, restaurants, bars, and vehicles. If you are caught consuming cannabis in public, it can result in fines and/or other penalties.

Additionally, driving under the influence of cannabis is strictly prohibited and treated similarly to driving under the influence of alcohol. Arizona has strict DUI laws, and being caught driving while impaired can lead to severe consequences, including license suspension, fines, and jail time.

Medical Marijuana Program

Arizona’s medical marijuana program remains active alongside the recreational cannabis laws. To qualify for the medical marijuana program, patients must have a qualifying medical condition, as defined by the Arizona Department of Health.

Patients who have a medical marijuana card can purchase cannabis from state-licensed dispensaries. A person can qualify for a medical card themselves when they turn 18, as opposed to the age requirement of 21 for recreational cannabis. They are also exempt from the state sales tax that applies to recreational cannabis.

Qualified patients can designate a caregiver to assist them in obtaining and administering medical marijuana. Caregivers are subject to background checks and must adhere to specific guidelines set by the Department of Health Services.

Additionally, patients under the age of 18 can get a medical card as long as they have a parent or guardian listed as a caregiver on their application. This caregiver is then responsible for purchasing and managing the medical cannabis for the minor patient.

Purchasing Cannabis

Cannabis must be purchased from state-licensed dispensaries. It is illegal to buy cannabis from unlicensed vendors or through black market channels.

Arizona has strict regulations regarding the sale and distribution of cannabis, and purchasing from an unauthorized source can result in significant legal penalties.

Additionally, Recreational cannabis is subject to a 16% excise tax in addition to the standard state and local sales taxes.

Employment and Cannabis Use

While cannabis is legal for adult use in Arizona, employers have the right to enforce their own drug policies. This means that even if you are a legal cannabis user, you could still face disciplinary action, including termination if your employer has a zero-tolerance policy.

For medical marijuana patients, the situation is slightly different. Arizona law provides some protection for medical marijuana cardholders against employment discrimination. However, this protection does not extend to employees who use cannabis on the job or come to work impaired.

Understanding the cannabis laws is essential for anyone considering using cannabis, whether recreationally or medically. Making sure that you are adhering to these regulations will help to ensure that you have a smooth and positive cannabis experience.

Cannabis Products Perfect for Your Summer Holiday Weekend

Cannabis Products Perfect for Your Summer Holiday Weekend

Looking for one last weekend of summer fun before we need to start moving into fall? Us too! And if you’re anything like us, you’re probably trying to incorporate some cannabis-related additions into your activities.

Well, we have a couple of fun ways that you can incorporate cannabis into your festivities this weekend!

Infused Beverages

Infused Beverages are the perfect way to stay cool and hydrated, while also staying medicated. You can choose to drink the beverage straight for ease of convenience or if you don’t mind dedicating a little bit more time to it, you can make yourself a pretty tasty infused mocktail.

Replacing the liquor in your favorite cocktail with an infused beverage is an easy way to have a delicious tasting mocktail, perfect for any holiday weekend. You can also make it even easier and just mix the infused drink with your favorite juice or soda.

This easy, light treat will be a great addition to any parties or festivities you might be attending. Just make sure that all infused drinks and mocktails are marked as such and are kept away from anyone under age.

Light Edibles

When you’re out in the summer sun, you might not be looking for more heavy edibles like chocolate or baked goods, so this is the perfect opportunity for something a little lighter and better suited for that summer sun.

Gummies are always a great option for situations like this and they typically have a wide range of dosages so you’re bound to find something for everyone. You could also pick up some hard candies or mints if you’re looking for something that will release over a longer period of time.

While these options are definitely lighter, you may need to be careful where you store them. We recommend that you store your edibles (and any other cannabis products, for that matter) in a cooler or bag in the shade, as far away from the sun as possible so you can minimize the risk of melting.

Pre-rolls

Another great way to incorporate cannabis into your holiday weekend plans is pre-rolls. They’re a good choice because they are easy to grab and go, they travel well and are discreet.

With pre-rolls, you don’t have to worry about rolling your blunts or joints and you don’t need to waste space packing things like papers, rolling trays, bongs, pipes, or anything else you would typically need to enjoy flower.

Additionally, there are so many different brands and options for pre-rolls that you can choose from, you should easily be able to find a strain and type that everyone likes.

Vapes

Vapes are another great option if you’re looking for something easy for the weekend. They’re typically pretty discreet and depending on that product it’s likely going to last you all day.

Disposable vapes are a great choice because they come with everything that you’re going to need and you don’t have to worry about saving the hardware, you can just grab it and go.

Just make sure you keep any batteries out of direct sunlight and try to keep them in the shade as much as possible so they don’t overheat.

Note: Please make sure that you are being mindful of your consumption. Be aware if the area that you’re in has rules surrounding cannabis. Try and refrain from smoking on public property and make sure that you’re keeping any medicated items and products stored safely and away from underage people.

We want you to be able to enjoy your holiday weekend just the way you want, especially if that includes a little bit of cannabis-related fun and relaxation! If you need to stock up for the holiday, then make sure you swing by NatureMed and we’ll make sure that you get everything that you need.

Cutting Edge Cannabis: What’s New in the Cannabis Industry

Cutting Edge Cannabis: What’s New in the Cannabis Industry

The Cannabis industry has alway been very forward thinking in terms of innovation and adaptation. We are often on the cutting edge of a lot of trends in culture and technology.

However it can be difficult to keep up with all of the changes going on in the industry. So we put together some of the latest trends that you may (or may not) have heard about going on in the world of cannabis.

Smoking Better

Packaging and Hardware

When it comes to how our favorite products are being packaged, there has been a recent move towards eco-friendly and sustainable packaging. Many brands are beginning to phase out materials like single-use plastics and move to biodegradable cardboard or recyclable glass packaging.

We are also seeing a rise in cannabis specific recycling programs that are specifically designed to reduce waste in our industry.

Learn more: Sustainability Efforts in the Cannabis Community

In addition to changes in packaging we are also seeing improvement in the hardware that we use to consume cannabis. With advancements in technology, there are now vaporizers that can connect to an app on your phone that allow you to better control your dosages. Some allow you to precisely control the near exact amount and type of Cannabinoids that you are consuming.

This type of technology is allowing users to tailor their experience to exactly what they’re looking for!

Product and Production

You might think that there can be no way to improve your favorite products, they’re already perfect! While we might feel like that’s true, the industry is continuing to improve the way that they grow and manufacture those products so that they can continue to give the best that they can.

Something that has been happening for a little while now has been the focus on Cannabinoids beyond just THC and CBD. Now we are seeing, CBN, CBG, CBC, and THCV are moving more to the forefront of the conversation.

As technology and research has advanced, we have been able to learn more about these Cannabinoids and how they can affect us and our high

Additionally, a lot of improvements are being made down at the plant level. Growers and researchers have made a lot of major improvements when it comes to genetic mapping of cannabis plants. This allows them to breed plants in more intentional ways to create strains that have specific attributes or effects.

Growing Better

Robotics and Tech

Not only are improvements being made on the consumer side, but the cultivation side of things is also getting some high tech advancements. It’s becoming more and more common to find some kind of machine harvesting technology in cultivations.

Not only does it cut down on labor costs but as the technology improves it’s becoming easier to have cleaner, more precise harvests

Many grow facilities also adopt technology into their data collection and monitoring systems. Remote operated cameras, sensors and atmosphere controls are becoming increasingly more common allowing growers to monitor plants from anywhere and even control things like temperature and humidity of a room from their phone or computer.

These sensors keep historic data and allow them to go back and check on the conditions of a particular room from any point in the growing process. This data can be used to discover potential errors in the process or improve the overall quality of the plant.

AI Integration

Out of all of the advancements in the cannabis industry, probably the most cutting edge and constantly developing addition is AI. Artificial intelligence has made its way into most parts of the industry but nowhere as exciting as in the growing process.

The addition of AI in many of the above mentioned technologies is already allowing growers to work smarter and create better processes and products.

There has been success in the use of AI in the inspection, grading and sorting of flower after the harvest and with AI’s ability to learn as it goes it’s only going to get better as we go.

Right now the integration of AI is still in its early stages with much of its processes being guided and supervised by people but as the programs and technology continue to improve it has the potential to be a great asset to the industry.

As the world changes and grows, so too do we, and as both members and consumers in this industry, it is very exciting to see all of the ways that these advancements are going to improve cannabis as a whole!

Make sure that you stay tuned in here at NatureMed because we’re going to make sure that you have all of the latest news and information in the cannabis space. How to Get The Most Out of Your High

How to Get The Most Out of Your High

When consuming cannabis, it can be easy to fall into the thought process of, “What’s going to get me the highest, fastest?” While that might sound appealing, it’s often better to go with quality over quantity.

If you’re looking to elevate your experience, then there are a couple of easy things that you can do to get the most out of your high and improve your cannabis experience.

Choose the Right Strain

The first thing you’re going to want to do is make sure that you are choosing the right strain for you. Many seasoned cannabis users will already be familiar with this, but regardless of your experience level this is an incredibly important step.

The type of cannabis strain you choose has a significant impact on your high. There are three primary strain categories: Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid. Indica strains are often associated with relaxation and a “body high”. Sativas are more energizing, with more of a cerebral high. Hybrids, as the name suggests, have a mix of both effects, depending on the specific strain.

Beyond the basic strain types, terpenes, which are aromatic compounds found in cannabis, also play a crucial role in shaping your experience. For example, limonene has an uplifting effect, while myrcene promotes relaxation.

Understanding the terpene profile of your chosen strain can help you tailor your high to your desired experience.

Mindful Consumption

If you’re new to cannabis or trying a new product, it’s wise to start with a small dose. This is particularly important with edibles, which can take longer to kick in and may have more intense effects than smoking or vaping.

In the cannabis space, it’s very common to hear the phrase “start low and go slow”.

Additionally, the environment in which you consume cannabis can influence your experience. Try and choose a comfortable, safe space where you can fully relax.

Whether it’s your living room, a cozy outdoor spot, or a serene location in nature, make sure it’s a place where you feel at ease. The company you keep is also important—being around positive, like-minded people can enhance your high too.

Pair Cannabis with the Right Activities

Cannabis can often heighten your senses, making everyday activities feel more enjoyable. Pair your high with activities that engage your senses, such as listening to music, watching a movie, or enjoying art.

Music, in particular, can be incredibly immersive when you’re high—consider curating a playlist that matches the mood of your high.

Many users also find that cannabis enhances creativity. Writing, painting, playing music, or any other creative pursuit are great options and cannabis can help you tap into a deeper level of inspiration. Use your high as an opportunity to explore your artistic side without judgment or expectations.

Additionally, Cannabis and nature go hand in hand. Consider taking a walk or hike after consuming cannabis. The natural beauty around you will likely feel more vivid, and the fresh air can enhance your sense of well-being.

Stay Hydrated and Nourished

While you want to make sure that your mind is fed while consuming, you also want to make sure that you are taking care of your body. Make sure that you are staying hydrated throughout the duration of your high. Not only will it combat dry mouth but it will help you to feel better during the whole experience.

The “munchies” are a well-known side effect of cannabis, as many strains are considered appetite stimulants.

To make sure that you’re feeling your best when those cravings hit, prepare healthy, satisfying snacks ahead of time. Fresh fruits, nuts, or whole-grain snacks can satisfy your hunger without making you feel sluggish.

Reflect and Relax

Cannabis can enhance mindfulness, making it easier to focus on the present moment. After consuming cannabis, consider practicing meditation or deep breathing exercises. This can help you feel more grounded and deepen your sense of relaxation.

Keeping a journal of your cannabis experiences can help you understand what strains, doses, and activities work best for you. Reflecting on your high afterward can also be a valuable tool for personal growth, allowing you to identify what enhances your enjoyment and what might detract from it.

Be Ready for the Come-Down

As your high starts to fade, it’s important to transition gently back into your regular routine. Consider winding down with a soothing activity like taking a warm bath, reading a book, or listening to calming music. This can help you ease out of your high and prepares you for a restful sleep.

A good night’s sleep is the perfect way to conclude a cannabis session. If you’ve chosen a relaxing strain, it might help you fall asleep more easily. Ensure your sleeping environment is comfortable and conducive to rest, setting the stage for a peaceful night.

No matter why or how you’re setting off on this cannabis journey, enhancing your experience and getting the most out of it can be as simple as a couple of easy steps.

And don’t forget, cannabis is a personal journey and it’s important to experiment with different approaches to find what works best for you, and always prioritize your well-being.

Here at NatureMed we want to help you find what works best for you so if you’re looking to give any of these tips or tricks a try, then stop by and we’ll make sure you get what you need.
